LABOUR LEADER JEREMY CORBYN COMMENDS ‘INSPIRATIONAL’ FOUNDATION

Leader of the Opposition, the Rt. Hon. Jeremy Corbyn MP commends The Oliver King Foundation as “a truly inspirational organisation”.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has come out in support of the campaigns efforts to save lives across the UK by increasing the provision of lifesaving defibrillators. His comments come the day before the Foundation celebrates its fifth anniversary at a dinner at Oliver’s favourite club, Everton.

Jeremy Corbyn MP wrote: “The Oliver King Foundation has done such brilliant work over the last five years in raising awareness of Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome and encouraging the widespread installation of defibrillators in schools and other public places. The Foundation can show so many tangible achievements and lives saved – a truly inspirational organisation.”

His backing comes as 200 Members of Parliament have signed up to back The Oliver King Foundation since October 2016, with the addition of six meetings with Government Ministers, two debates in the House of Commons and one debate in the House of Lords.

Our team are working hard to ensure that lifesaving defibrillators are available in every single community across the UK. By working closely with Members of Parliament we can raise awareness on a much wider level, working with leaders to influence their communities.

Mark King, Founder of The Oliver King Foundation said “It was great to meet Jeremy last year, and now receive a letter of support from him. We have worked very hard to secure the backing of MPs over the last five years, we are now seeing great progress.”

Jake Morrison, charity manager said “We have been very clear since setting up the Foundation, which will work to secure the support of members of all parties – keeping the campaign to save lives as a cross-party campaign. It is great to see this support. We have built brilliant relationships with key senior and backbench MPs, and members of the House of Lords. We are now seeing the fruits of our labour come to fruition.”
